PHILANTHROPY / SERVICE
From raising thousands of dollars for cancer research to helping the local animal shelter, the Alpha Kappa chapter has a strong tradition of philanthropy and community service. Through service, we both grow closer to our Hillsdale community and closer to our fellow brothers through shared experiences. Below are some examples of our traditions:

01
Derby Days
An annual fundraising competition hosted by Sigma Chi chapters across the United States and Canada. Here at Alpha Kappa, it is not only a great opportunity to raise money for cancer research, but also to form bonds with Hillsdale's three female Greek life chapters.
02
Humane Society Cleanup
A semesterly volunteer opportunity for the brothers. Walking dogs, moving supplies and landscaping is made more fun by doing it with a group of your closest friends.

03
Fundraising for Huntsman
Outside of Derby Days, the Alpha Kappa chapter hosts other fundraising activities throughout the year, often taking place on campus and in the student union.
04
Other Projects
Whenever our Philanthropy Chair finds a volunteer opportunity, the brothers of Sigma Chi are ready to meet the need.
